Kennedy Center Outdoor Facility
The YMCA is located on Rt. 2, 5 miles outside of Huntington, and has 80 acres for outdoor recreation. There are 5 soccer fields which host our spring and fall youth soccer programs as well as our middle school soccer program.
A small pond is stocked by the West Virginia DNR so that youth accompanied by an adult and disabled person can fish. There is also a high and low element rope course located behind the club house next to the Ohio River; groups or companies may schedule times to go through our ropes program by contacting Jim Keaton, Director of the Kennedy Center.
The Kennedy Center has outdoor pool located on the property that ranges in depth from 2.5 to 10ft deep and has a slides and a diving board located around the pool. A kid's pool accompanies the larger pool and has a spray mushroom with an adjacent playground.
A 1 mile walking/running trail surrounds portions of the property to allow individuals an opportunity to exercise while at the pool or during activities in which their child may be participating.Members may use the Kennedy Center facilities if you join the Kennedy Center Pool for the summer or are a YMCA May Building Member.
The Kennedy Center is open during the month's of June, July and August.
