National Multiple Sclerosis Society - The West Virginia Division of the All America Chapter is one of a 70-plus-chapter network across the United States that advances the Society’s mission. Founded in 1990, the Division provides services and programs to 3200 people with MS and their families within the Division’s 64 county territory. The Division serves 55 counties in West Virginia, the Kentucky counties of Greenup, Boyd, Lawrence, Martin, Pike, Johnson and Floyd; and the Ohio counties of Belmont and Jefferson. The Division funds research, furthers education, advocates for people with disabilities, and provides referrals to healthcare providers and other resources within the community.

Senior Wise Program - Senior Wise is a free program designed to help those over 50 learn more about conserving and preserving our physical and financial well-being and to take advantage of special discounts and services available to us.
H.E.A.R.T. Program - The H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Educators Attack Cardiovascular Risk Factors Together) Program at St. Mary’s identifies risk factors for heart disease in third- through fifth-grade students in Cabell County.
Silver Sneakers - Silver Sneakers offers an innovative blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially oriented programming that allows older adults to take greater control of their health.
Cabell-Wayne Association of the Blind - CWAB will be seen nationally as a model for organizations and agencies that help blind and visually impaired persons achieve maximum independence. CWAB will be known for timely and appropriate state-of-the-art responses to the changing needs of consumers throughout the Tri-State area and beyond.
American Red Cross - Whether it is assisting a disaster victim or a member of the armed forces, offering health and safety training, or providing vital blood resources, the American Red Cross has always been there.
American Heart Association - Diseases of the heart are the No. 1 killer in America, and stroke is the No. 3 killer. The American Heart Association strongly believes that learning more about these diseases is the best way to reduce disability and death.
Healthy Huntington - HealthyHuntington.org was created in 2003 to bring the ideals of the HealthierUS Initiative to the Tri-State region. In particular we have focused on making this area a more active region with an emphasis on making exercise fun. We will try to keep our calendar updated with healthy activities.
Huntington Roadrunners - Our local association of the Road Runners organizes and assists with races, fundraising and community service activities, and the promotion of healthier lifestyles thru running and walking.
Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District - The Park Board meets the 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:00pm at the Ritter Park Rose Garden "Room with a View". Two months out of the year, the meeting is located in Milton.
Let’s Get Moving Program - Let’s Get Moving! is a comprehensive community based program to promote the health of elementary school children. Let’s Get Moving! is comprised of health fairs at Cabell County Elementary schools, and an intervention for children ages 8 to 11 with a BMI >85th percentile. Fairs include fun fitness activities, a nutrition education station provided by MU graduate dietetics interns, and a Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure station (this station is performed in a private room to protect children’s privacy.)
Children enrolled in our intervention program receive FREE: one year membership to the Huntington YMCA Youth Building with new Sportwalls™, 4 physician visits to a University Physicians & Surgeons pediatrician, and 2 finger prick lab draws to assess for high cholesterol, diabetes, and liver disease. Participating children’s families receive discounted memberships to the Huntington YMCA and are invited to attend nutrition classes and guided grocery store tours with their children.
HYCAT of Huntington Aquatic Team - Founded in 1969, as YHSC (YMCA of Huntington Swim Club) the team was sponsored by the City of Huntington and the Huntington YMCA. In 1991, SUN Aquatics (Charleston) and Huntington YMCA Swim Club merged to create one team now known as HYCAT (Huntington YMCA/Charleston Aquatic Team). The two teams are run by separate governing bodies as well as coached by different staff at separate locations. The teams do however combine during competitions.
